OH! I long for spring now. I want to plant and decorate the terrace . We have some new projects there. But now, it snows a lot! I have to wait……

IMG_3886Last week, Slamrekullen had the frist guests of the year. It was i nice family from Denmark. They liked snow.

This weekend, we do not have any guests. Ronny has spent a few hours on the toilet! 😉 Because there was not quite finished yet. Beside the washing machine there will be a water tap and a sink, and a bench on top of the washing machine. On the wall, a shelf and under, we should put an old waching paddle from 1841! Now Ronny will call the plumber, then we will soon have water in the tap.

 

 

 

I hope spring soon will be here….

Yesterday I ”cleaned away” the Christmas in the cottage, away with santas, stars and decorations, (down in the tree coffin). I also prepared for our new guests from Denmark, who arrive just when we return from our vacation. I thought it would be nice to prepare a little. As my company I had a little Svante. But he just wantet to play in the staris 😉

When I was finished, I took some new pictures. I have put them together in pairs, to get a better overview.

IMG_3653 Now we write 2016!

 

DSC_1503Yesterday we lit up in the house, both outside and inside. We would celebrate the New Year with our dear neighbors from Mossahägnad. Therefore, we booked in ourselves in the calendar 😉

Of courese, we wanted to start the celebrations in the outhouse. This house that we build, because the house that we bought seven years ago, was so small. We needet more space – a office for Ronny and storage for me, and a large room for partys – a partyroom! We build a ”Uthus”! It took four years and in May last year it was complete. A pity that it should be empty when we do not use it……

”We try to rent it out” ……. what a good idea! Absolutley incredibly fun, it has been. And incredibly fun it will be to continue in 2016.

We wish all our ”old” and ”new” guests a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Christmas in the cottage

Today I put a little Christmas tree in the cottage. Of course, our guests who will stay with us over Christmas have a tree. The cottage is ready to receive our new guests tomorrow. It had been fun and cozy with snow and freezing temperatures, but it will not happen. Tonight we have the darkest night, then it will be lighter and lighter, day after day.

Today it is Lucia day in Sweden. I celebrated Lucia in the ”uthuset” with nice song from the television and my vacuum cleander was my company. Tomorrow we got new guests from Germany, and then the cottage should be clean and fresh.

Half of December has almost passed and we have not seen even a single snowflake. It´s to bad! Some frosty nights we got, that´s all 😦

But we make Christmas decoratings, light candles, listen to Christmas music and nibbling gingerbread. In the ”uthuset” has some ”tomtar” (santas) moved in. I took some new pictures when the house was ready for our new guests.

The wood supply is full, the fireplace is loaded, just to light!  (It´s cozy on Slamrekullen even without snow.) Today i made a Christmas wreath to the door.

Now, Slamrekullen is ready for our new guests – a family from Germany.

We are a bit ”Christmas crazy” at Slamrekullen and want to have a ”cozy Christmas” for many weeks, therefore we start now! At the large oak table is now the long candlestick, which I bought at the Christmas market in Lubeck last year. With four dark red light globes and moss from the forest.

On the wall is our fir, made of old boards. It is located there the hole year. Many says that it looks like a sign for navigation at sea. But we do not need navigation signs in the forest, it is a fir! Now when I have lighted it up, everyone sees that it is a Christmas three! If you want some ”cozy Christmas”, you lights both the candles and the Christmas tree.

Gul höst / Yellow autumn

DSC_0380Hösten på Slamrekullen är verkligen GUL!

Den stora linden är lika gul som Gekås! (Nästan gulare faktiskt).

I helgen har Ronny jobbat med att bygga vidare på den stora högen med ek.

Autumn on Slamrekullen is really yellow! The large linden tree is as yellow as Gekås! (Almost yellower actually).

This weekend has Ronny been working with the huge pile of oak.

På Slamrekullen har vi shoppinggäster varje vecka! Och Gekås är fullt med folk alla dagar i veckan! Själv var jag där i förra veckan. Vagnen blev full som vanligt. En liten söt och sömnig nattuggla fick följa med hem. Den passar bra på sovloftet.

We have shopping guests at Slamrekullen every weekend. And Gekås is full of shoppers every day. I was there last week. The trolley was full, as usual. A cute little sleepy night owl had to come with me home to the loft.

Vi firar inte Halloween, men vi kan väl få skrämmas lite ändå – BU!

Vi bor nära, besöker ”det stora gula varuhuset” ungefär en gång i månaden. Det har blivit lite oftare under vår och sommar när vi skulle ha sängkläder, handdukar och en hel massa annat till vårt ”Uthus”. Där finns ju nästan allt – allt som man får plats med i en bil……det är det som gäller har jag hört. De säljer inget som inte får plats i en bil……bra va?

Tillsammans med många andra, besökte min syster varuhuset i helgen, i värsta ”höstrusningen”. Det blev försäljningsrekord, och annons i Hallands Nyheter! Över 35 MILJONER KRONOR!!!!  PÅ EN DAG!!!!   HELT GALET!!!!

Här kommer lite fascinerande siffror om detta varuhus:

Den genomsnittliga besökaren på Gekås är enligt deras undersökningar en kvinna i 50-års åldern, boende i Götaland som åker till Gekås över dagen och kör ca 20 mil enkel väg. Hon åker med familj eller vänner och är en frekvent besökare, vilket innebär att hon återkommer 2 – 5 gånger om året. Hon tillbringar ca 5 timmar i varuhuset och spenderar ca 3500:- Enligt kundundersökningar är 63% kvinnor och 36% män.
