Our summer lakes

IMG_2570In our naerest summer lake swinging a small boat with a very grand name – yes, it is I who named her. ”Lotta of the seas” is our own little cruiser in Trolla lake.

Last night we took a ride in the boat. In our basket was shrimpsandwich and ”champagne” from Mosel. Ronny wanted to try some fishing……it did not work so well……

Our lake is small, but wery cozy 😉

There are two others, much bigger lakes nearby. It´s ”Hjärtareds lake” there are several bath / beaches. 4 km from us, I have a secret beach, where you can swim all by yourself, (top photo, left). ”Stora Neten” is another large and deep lake. There are boats for hire at both of this lakes.

I also want to show you our new entrance to the house. Ronny and some boys from KS entreprenad was sweating for three days, then our ”Uthuset” got a nice wall with stairs. It is so nice! A quick trip to the big, yellow store (Gekås) our convenience store, to by two large pots and two plants, did the entrance complete.

Tomorrow it´s already August, but we hope for many more summer days and lovely summer evenings 🙂

 

 

”Slamrekullen news”

Today I have been in the ”uthus” preparing and fix the house for a small family from Germany, arrives tomorrow. At the loft is now our ”mum-dad-child-bed”. And on one of the pillows lying my little puppy,  wating for a small friend.

At Slamrekullen we have different ”bed options”. We got this big bed (270 cm wide) when we got a family with kids as our guests. If the child is younger, off course we got a cot. When we get a hole family with older children, we making the beds downstairs, in the ”sofabed” and one extra bed. As you can see, there are many opportunities in the cottage 😉

Today Ronny put up the child gate at the top of the stairs. We do not want any somersaults down the stairs!

A little fun thing, I come up with last week –  was this little green, edible bouqet. Instead of flowers, I picked a bouquet of herbs. There are chives, parsley, basil and lemon balm. I wrote a small sign in the bouquet – it´s allowed to eat  🙂

 

 

In the cottage we got a green guestbook. It´s always so exciting to see if the guests written anything. Usually the have! If they write in German, I try to translate….with some help from ”Google translate”. This I read yesterday in my dear book.

Our previous guests, Sebastian and Adriana, was the first who saw moose at Slamrekullen. It was a ”mother-moose” and her two newborn calves which stumbled across the road. I look out for them every day, but I don´t think I will have such luck.

We have quite a lot of moose in the woods around here. Two weeks ago I saw five during a week. The first moose is a yearling I photographed 500 meters from Slamrekullen. The bottom image on the calves, I got from Sebastian and Adriana 🙂

Nu blir det kallare / It gets colder…

Vi har redan haft lite frost på Slamrekullen.

DSC_0383Men till helgen ska det bli flera minusgrader, ”säger dom”. Vi har laddat upp ordentligt med ved i både uthus och framhus. Både till oss och till våra gäster från Danmark som kommer i kväll. Många sprakande brasor lär det nog bli i helgen.

We already had frost at Slamrekullen. Every week, we load up firewood in both our houses. For us and for our guests. We waiting a family from Denmark  to night.

På tidiga mornar och kvällar, när jag kör förbi Gällsered (2 km från oss) och Bosses får i hagen, så ser det ut så här. Lite längre bort ligger en liten sjö och från den stiger det upp dimma som lägger sig i långa stråk. Denna bilden tog jag i Söndagskväll.

This picture I took last Sunday, in Gällsered (2 km from us). It is Bosses cheeps in the pasture. Fog rising from the lake, settles in long streaks across the little valley. Incredible beautiful.

DSC_0005Som ni märker, så älskar jag att fotografera. Just nu går jag på fotokurs och då blir det hysteriskt mycket fotograferande. Brist på vackra naturvyer har vi inte där vi bor!

(Tänk på att älgjakten börjar på måndag, då vimsar det omkring älgar, hundar och jägare i skogen. Ronny kanske också ska ut och vimsa. Så kör försiktigt!)

Båt och bär / Boat and berries

Både Ronny och jag tog vägen ner mot Trollstigen. Jag för att plocka bär (hallon) och gå en sväng. Ronny, och en kompis, för att ta en fisketur med båten. Den första i sommar.

Hela vägen ner mot Trollasjön fanns det massor med hallon.

Saturday morning 09:00

Both I and Ronny went down to Trolla-lake. I wanted to pick berries (raspberries) and take a walk. Ronny with a friend, would take a fishing trip. The first in this summer.

All the way down to the lake grow a lot of raspberries.

Lördagsmorgonen var mulen och totalt vindstilla. Trollasjön låg spegelblank och näckrosorna blommade.

Någon fisk blev det inte (om man inte räknar den lille abborren som var lika stor som masken). Inte ens Svante hade blivit mätt! Men att fiska i en liten stilla sjö en sommarmorgon, där näckrosorna blommar är tillräckligt. Om det inte blir någon fisk, så gör det inget. Naturupplevelsen är mer än tillräcklig.

Saturday morning was overcast and totally windless. Trolla-lake was like a mirror and the waterlilies was in bloom.

There was no fish (not counting the little man perch, as big as the lobworm). Not even Svante (cat) had been measured. But to fish in a small, quiet lake in a summer morning, where the waterlilies bloom is enough. If you don´t catch any fish, it doesn´t matter at all.The experience of nature is more than enough.

Bären då?

IMG_2375Jo, jag plockade lite hallon. Men sedan hittade jag världens blåbärsställe med stora, fina, goda blåbär. Det blev en hel liter. (Kanske inte låter så mycket, men har ni en aning om hur lång tid det tar att plocka blåbär?)

Precis som jag sett tidigare så vimlar skogen av nästan mogna lingon. Äter inte så mycket lingon, så de får någon annan plocka.

Lite gult godis hittade jag också….

Berries? Yes, I picked some raspberries. Then I found a good blueberry place with big and tasty berries. I picked a whole gallon. (Might not sound like much, but do you know how long it takes to pick blueberries?)

I have previously written, the forest is full of lingonberrys soon ready to pick. I also found some yellow sweets……

De har kommit! Än så länge är de för små för att plockas, men snart……

De gula skogskantarellerna – de bästa!

(They have arrived! They are too samll to be picked, but soon….. The yellow forest chanterelles are the best!)

IMG_2291IMG_5988Jag hittade också blåbär! Många fler än jag trodde fanns. De växer vilt runt hela Slamrekullen, så jag slipper gå så långt.

(I also found blueberries! Many more than I thought existed. They grow all around Slamrekullen.)

På Lottas skogspromenad idag…..

Hittade jag fullt med smultron. Det var inte förrän vi flyttade hit ut i Ullaredsskogen som jag riktigt smakat på vilda smultron. Jag tror att pappa hade några trädgårdssmultron i rabatten när jag och syrran var små. De smultronen var ganska stora och ljusrosa och smakade nästan inget alls. Dess totala motsats växer vilt här runt min skogsrunda. De är små, knallröda och smakar så mycket smultron och sommar!

(On my walk in the woods today, I found wild strawberries. They are small, red and taste som mutch summer!)

 
Nu väntar jag otåligt på den gula lilla svampen……..som kommer snart!
