Only rain – no snow.

The days are so grey and rainy.

My greenhouse sleeps its winter sleep, and I´m just waiting for spring and the fun work with planting and make the greenhouse lovely in my paradise.

Ronny works in the woods – need more firewood for next winter –

and I wait for spring and look at pictures from last summer.

In time for the first advent, the first snow arrive – we like!

I took the opportunity to run around the houses ant took some pictures.

In the cottage, we have three girls from Oslo. Hope they have a nice time in our cozy cottage.

This afternoon we are going to Liseberg (Gotheborg) – the best Christmasplace in Sweden!

Today, we were out in the woods collecting material for our Christmas wreat.

The greenhouse became my wreath`s workshop.

We only have two weeks left for advent, and I like to have most things done before then. Our Christmas decorations often come from the nature.

Sometimes we make some changes –

Hopefully for the better for our guests. In recent weeks we have changed reading lamps on the sleeping loft. Under each lamp, there is a plug, where you can load your mobilephone.

During this week there will be more and more Christmas in the cottage❤️

This is how Slamrekullen looked like in the beginning of October.

Now autumn has blown away all the colorful leaves. We sit inside, light candels and fires in the fireplace, and start to think about if we need new Advent candels, and stars and candy and presents……..

There you find lots of everything! Now we have several happy choppers as our guests in our cottage. This week – from Denmark. Hope they find a lot of nice things.

Welcome!

Now is the time of the glittering web – early autumn. I must go out and take some pichtures and see if I can catch the diaminds in the nets. Like this one, my best photo I use in our blogg.

The days are still warm, but the cold comes quickly in the evening. In the morning, when I drive to work, it is fog over the lakes. It is so beautiful. We can still sit outside and enjoy the sun on the terrace.

Nature begins to change color – against yellow!

Yellow is the chantarelles, yellow is the leaves, yellow is the fire we light in the stove and yellow is Gekås! And yellow are all shoppers´bags full of Christmas presents. Now start the BIG shopping time, and lasts until Christmas 🙂

We are not made for this! Our houses is not built for tropical tempertures above 30 degrees Celcius. They are built to withstand rain, wind and snow!

Therefore, it gets very hot in the summer when the heat gets in under the roof.

In the cottage, the sleeping loft is on the second floor, it is the hottest place in the cabin. Off course you can open the loft door and the window so the wind can come in, but when the wind is over 20 degrees in the night…….

Now we have placed a portable ari condition downstairs. It´s lovely! It cools down the entire cottage and it becomes a comfortable temperature.

August it is.

All flowers bloom, we harvest vegetables in the green house, tomatoes, cucumbers and chilli. The summer is still ”ON”, but…….the bright summer nights are about to fade.

Yesterday, we were on a party with our dear neighbors, and we noticed that after 9, it was almost dark! The summer is not over, but when the bright summer nights are gone, we know that soon………

Oh…….I just regret this pichture…….. Right now, this image seems like another coundry and a different world!

Last year we hade 2 fish in the pond, but sadly they died. The summer was to hot, no rain. Because of that, we put a small fountain in the pond, only for our 12 gold fish, to oxygenate the water. They are alert and sometimes we can see them swim just under the fontain in the cascade of bubbles.

I have found some chantarelles in the forest, not so many, but if we can get some rain, there will ve many more.

In our ”forest garden” we have often visit – deers. One morning, just behind the pond, there was this two….. The moose are there too, but you have to be very lucky to see them.

Last week I was out – together wit my lovely cats – (they always want to come out in the forest with me). We went down to our fir planting. Last year we plant almost 2000 fir plants. Now the grow in the gras. Some of them – perhaps – will be Christmas trees 😉

In my basket i collect material for ”Tomtebo”.

Drive to Gothenburg and Liseberg takes 1 hour and 15 minutes from Slamrekullen. I think Liseberg is a Disney world in miniature. We have been to Disney World – ” Magic kingdom” in Orlando, and I can see many similarities. A beautiful park, nice streets reminding of a old city. There are small shops in the houses. There are no Mickey Mouse or Donald Trump ….. oh, sorry, I mean Donald Duck…..walking around. No, we got the green Liseberg rabbit. There are many ”terror rides” on different attractions – rollercosters, carousels, water rides…..

Spinning – play on – a chocolate wheel can mean that you have to carry several kilos of chocolate around in the park, we saw many who did that!

We have a favorite restaurant at Liseberg – Hamnkrogen. It´s a fish- and seafood restaurant. We were not disappointed yesterday either. As a starter – Toast Skagen, (classic Swedish starter). As the main dish – baked cod. The best I have eaten so far this summer. There are many resturants, pubs, cafe´and a lot of good things to eat……jammi!

It´s not only summertime you can visit Liseberg. Oh no, my favorite is ”Christmas at Liseberg” open in middle of November. A lovely place you can visit to get Christmas mood – absolutley wonderful!

Day one bubbles and day two bubbels…… now I will tell you about my bubbels 🙂 Monday – new guests arrive in the afternoon. The house must be clean and nice. I like to fix and make it nice for our guests. Our guests should just go in, unpack and then start their holiday without a lot of things to fix.

So I pack my basket and make some bubbles.

Coffee, danc music on Spotify, I found an old list of Wisex songs from the 80s, and I knew them all! and the broom handle can work as a mic……. I´m on the go!

Slamrekullen is ready to welcome a family from Germany. Hope they will enjoy their stay with us. Now to the next day, and to another kind of bubbels – we went to Gothenburg and Liseberg 🙂

GEKÅS IN Ullared! I must write a blogg about Gekås. Some of our guest visiting us just because we are close to Gekås – others have never heard of Gekås – ”It´s the Happy ones” according to Ronny 😉 World famous? Yes almost! We live close by,(10 km) visiting ”the big yellow department store” about once a month. It has become a little more frequent during spring and summer when we would have bedding, towels and a whole lot of other things for our ”Uthus”. There is almost everything there – everything that you can fit in a car …… that’s what I have heard. They do not sell anything that does not fit in a car …….

Every summer it became a sales record, last time it happend – peope shop for over 45 MILLION SWE KRONES !!!! ON A DAY!!!! CRAZY!!!! Every authumn (before Christmas) it´s a shopping Mecca! You can´t go there in the weekends, it´s SO crowded with people. It´s nice to have it close, so you can just go home agian if you like 🙂

Here are some fascinating figures about this department store:     1700 people work during high season.     The shop area is 35,000 square meters.     There are 69 outlets.     12 000 customers can shop at the same time.     12000 shopping carts.     8000 customer baskets.     4500 parking spaces.     For one year, 150 million goods pass through the cash registers.     The visitor record was beaten on July 21, 2019, when 31500 customers traded.     The longest line outside the department store was measured on October 30, 2010. The sex was 1.4 km long.     In 2014, 4.8 million people visited the department store, which makes it Sweden’s largest excursion / visitor destination!     For a week, the department store is emptied of goods 3 times!     Each customer picks up goods for 15: – in minutes!     700,000 pairs of jeans are sold per year.     13 million pairs of socks / year.     320 000 bags Ahlgrens cars (candy) / year.     100,000 packages of freezer bags / day.     25,000 yellow plastic bags / day.     100 million bullforms / year.     1 700 000 bottles of shampoo / year.

Yesterday it was football! (Sweden – Germany) On with the yellow ”winner” sweater! Inportant match – win or go…home..it was Germany who had to say ”goodbye” and go home. It was so exciting and I screamed loudly when Sweden made goals….. so it was probably heard in to our German guest in the cottage 😉 Summer in Sweden, it´s also football. Many restaurants and pubs in the city have large screen tv.s and its a real action in there. (Last year we saw football (also Sweden – Germany) with our dear guests from Munich…..then Sweden lost. But that was special….not often you have the opposing team in the same sofa! Now I will hang up my yellow sweater to the next match against the Netherlands on Wendesday. Wish you all a lovely Sunday.
