”The fireplace time” is here!

img_4689It seems we`ll skip the autumn!

The summer will never stop! But we can see in the nature – it´s not summer anymore. And the evenings get darker and darker, and colder! Not until this week, we and our guests in the cottage start to light the fireplaces. So, therefore I say – the ”fireplace time” is here!

The warm colors in the natrue is so beautiful. I´m out and take a lot of pictures wery often. Ronny works with the woodpile, and I have start to look for fine Christmas trees in the forest 😉 Yes, I´m early, but it´s nice to know were the finest grows.

In the cottage we have guests, from Denmark, Seweden and Germany. The Danes and the Swedes want most to shop at Gekås. (Many get quite superised when they read in our information binder – there is so much else to see and do nearby.)

Welcome to Slamrekullen in the autumn and winter!

We nerver know when the winter and snow arrives. It feels pretty distant right now, with this higt temperatures we got. But soon it´s October, and after that….November and after that…..

For those who enjoy snow and skiing, there are many long ski tracks in Åkulla (10 km) from us. We also got at ski slope in Ullared (10 km). When there is minus degrees, they produces snow in ”snow cannons”.

At Slamrekullen we love the Christmas holiday!

We start to ”light up” the cottage in November. Just while Gekås and ”Christmas at Liseberg” lights theirs candels. (Liseberg is located in Gotheborg 100 km from us).

We look forward to a cozy and relaxing autumn at Slamrekullen.

Lotta & Ronny

Our summer lakes

IMG_2570In our naerest summer lake swinging a small boat with a very grand name – yes, it is I who named her. ”Lotta of the seas” is our own little cruiser in Trolla lake.

Last night we took a ride in the boat. In our basket was shrimpsandwich and ”champagne” from Mosel. Ronny wanted to try some fishing……it did not work so well……

Our lake is small, but wery cozy 😉

There are two others, much bigger lakes nearby. It´s ”Hjärtareds lake” there are several bath / beaches. 4 km from us, I have a secret beach, where you can swim all by yourself, (top photo, left). ”Stora Neten” is another large and deep lake. There are boats for hire at both of this lakes.

I also want to show you our new entrance to the house. Ronny and some boys from KS entreprenad was sweating for three days, then our ”Uthuset” got a nice wall with stairs. It is so nice! A quick trip to the big, yellow store (Gekås) our convenience store, to by two large pots and two plants, did the entrance complete.

Tomorrow it´s already August, but we hope for many more summer days and lovely summer evenings 🙂

Our sunny terrace

Today – finally, I had the opportunity to take new pictures on our terrace!

And I tryed it also. The sun was shining, the gras was green, the flowers in bloom, the birds singing and the beer was cold……perfekt! Yes, our terrace ”is working”.

We hope for many sunny days for our guests, enjoying the sun on the terrace.

Willkommen in Slamrekullen!

Välkomna till Slamrekullen!

The boat is in the lake

IMG_4349Finally, we have waited many weeks! Now, Trolla lake, our nearest little lake, got a brand new bridge and today, the boat splashed  down in the wather 🙂 We have the boat together with our neighbors, but if it´s free, our guests can borrow it.

In my little binder in the house, (the one with lots of information) are now several suggestions of walking paths nearby. The day before yesterday, I tryed a new one it was almost five kilometers. Here is some photos from my walk.

It seems to be a nice week, with good weather. Tomorrow, we are welcome a couple from Germany.

Have a nice day!

Yellow & blue

In this time of year (May and June), Sweden show their true colors.

Everywhere shines the yellow canola fields. IMG_4332

At Slamrekullen (and in the rest of Sweden) it has not rained in two weeks! Everything is very dry. It´s very rare that we have to water the lawn, but we did that this week, otherwise it will die. Everything has grown so green, just in a few weeks.

Today, Ronny and our dear neighbor, Jörgen build a new pier at the lake, ”Trollasjön”. Soon we can use it and take a trip with the boat.

Have a nice day!

Tschüss!  I try to learn German 🙂

A small film

I want to show you a small film about my hometown – Falkenberg and the local environment in Halland. The film is called ”Falkenberg – past, present and future”. Falkenberg is located in the coast, ca 40 kilometers from Slamrekullen. Famous for the fine sandy beaches, Falcon beer, the delicious mached potatoes in ”mojjerna”, the new football arena, the beautiful scenery around Ätran and the old town with the church ”St Laurentii” from the 1300s. The film also shows the most popular ”holidy trip” in Sweden – Gekås. And this mega store, is NOT located in Falkenberg! In Ullared it is, where we lives!  If you want to visit Falkenberg, I have some ”tips for trips” in my small binder in the house.

Sometime there is problems to show the film!!! You can search on ”youtube” – Falkenberg – dåtid, nutid och framtid.

Slamrekullen is ready for the Easter holiday

IMG_1140

Yesterday, we welcomed our first returners, a family from Denmark. They wanted to celebrate Easter with us at Slamrekullen. We are wery happy about that! Of course, I wanted to make the cottage extra cozy and ”Easterhappy” 😉  The spring, in the forest at Slamrekullen is bright and full of birdsong. The sun rise early. Almost 06:00 it rises over the treetops.

We want to wish you all a wonderful Easter!

Our toilet

I have just been out and cleaned and fixed on the toilet. This week, the plumber was here and connect the water to the new water tap. Craftsmen´s really great! Can fix the electrical wiring and water connections you shall not make by yourself. But they leave the room quite messy! I wonder, why is there sawdust all over the toilet? Well…it was fine, now when I have cleaned away all the dust. Wondering if it was the last sawdust, I cleaned away? You have no idea HOW much sawdust I have cleaned, in this house….OMG!

Now, the toilet in the outhouse is complete. On the walls I hung up Annies old window, and a waching pat fråm 1841. I think it´s nice and beautifully with old tings. Things that we saved, find there places in our house, even though it´s only on a toiletwall….
