This year, the summer began during the Easter weekend!

Since then thera has been sun, sun and sun again. Spring needs rain to start sprouting. It has been so dry in the forest. In several places in Sweden we have alreasy had forest fires. ”Should it begin already” I have thought. (Last year we were without rain for two months and the forest fires ravaged). Not fun! BUT! Yesterday, at noon it started to rain ant it has been raining since then. I often write blogs and take pichtures on sunny days, but not today. Today it will be a rainy blog!

Infront of the house this year, thousands of little violets bloom, they also like the rain.

It is also time to get the boat in to the lake. Ronny washes it, then it will be painted by me – white is the color. Then, during the week, we drive it down to our nearest little lake – Trollasjön. Lovely summer evenings await.

Now, I´m going out to make the house ready for new guests coming tomorrow from Germany. The glasses must be shiny and clean, so I always machine wash them between each guest. A fun thin in the cabinet is all these spices that become more and more. In the beginning I put salt, pepper and sugar in the cabinet. The spices multiply beforehand. Now there is a large collection.

Happy Easter with Bounty eggs :)

In summer temperatures.

For almost a week we have had summer temperatures of over 20 degrees Celsius. (But the nights are cold, almost frost!) In nature it´s very dry, so we should not light any Easter bonfire (it is also prohibited in large parts of Sweden, because it is so dry.) We don´t hope for a summer like last year – without rain! But we like this sunny Easter holiday!

Eggs, eggs, eggs…….on Easter.

We like eggs, the best eggs is my own ”Bounty eggs”. Our guests – who stay with us over Easter, always got a small bag with my Bounty eggs. If you like to try my eggs…..

Mix: 50 grams of melted butter, 1/2 cup of cream, 1 egg white, 2 tablespoons of light syrup, 5 dl of coconut flakes, 2,5 dl of icing sugar and 1 tbsp of vanilla sugar. Let the mass svell for a few hours, or until the next day. Shape eggs, balls or something else. Dip them in melted choclate. I like sprinkles too 😉

Finally – spring arrives

April starts with sun! (But the wind is quite cold). I have made the first planting of yellow daffodils (I have to ”google that”). Easter begins next week, with feathers, eggs and candy 🙂

Today I was at ”GEKÅS” our BIG store, just 10 kilometers away. We also needed new flags. We always start the new seson with new flags. They bleach and break in the wind.

This weekend we took out the out door furniture for our guests. It´s so nice to sit outside in the morning sun. We hope for many lovely days. On Thursday we welcome some nice ladys from Denmark – shopping I think it will be 😉

Dinner out ;)

We went out to ”the Uthus” – perfect food, perfect wine – simpley perfect 😉

Only 20 steps to our little cozy place. I have prepared and chilled the Prosecco 🙂

Winter in Januari

30 Januari – Still snowing……and Ronny do ”the winter woorkout” 😉

(It´s now we need the ”snow-sticks” beside the road!)

My white winter country – I like!

I like the snow. Nature becomes so bright and nice.
The nights we have moonlight, it never gets really dark.
For a few days we have a lot of snow. My little black cats, Svante and Sven-Ingvar, can’t hide so well in the white snow. They are clearly visible.
Usually, when they come in to the house, they are full of dirt. Now when we have snow and come in, they are clean and nice.

It’s not just in the outhouse we have guests – oh no…..

In our stump – ”Tomtebo” – the plots live.

Now they have come home, because it shines in the windows……

Welcome 2019

fullsizeoutput_147e The first blog post this year will be about the forest.
Always in January and February we work a lot in the forest. In the last few weeks, Ronny has sawn down many trees because they grow too tight. It called to ”gallra”. And at the same time he remove bushes and small trees.

Today I was out and took care of a small area with trees. I would definitely not cut them down, oh no, I just cut off the bottom branches, so light comes down to the ground, and we can walk among the trees without getting caught in branches.
Soon the moss will begin to grow there again.

I like to take ”before” and ”after” pichtures. This is ”before”…….

Now we can see the nice ”stone fence yard” (gärdsgård in swedish). The whole nature is full of both large and small stones. These stone fences are built to make fields, but also for animals – heavy work! And I think they are so beautiful.
It’s great to be out in the woods and work.
When there is a big pile of twigs and branches, I fire them up. Sometimes it will be grilled hot dogs over the fire, but not today. Our small cats (Svante & Sven-Ingvar) also like to be out in the forest. It´s so exciting. They never go out in the forest alone, always with us. And if they come too far away, or if they can´t see us, we hear anxious mewing………Mjauuuuuu…..were are you!!!!?????

We also work with a path towards our own small (…..or small and small) attraction, so our guests can go and visit him 😉

He is called Mr Grankwist (meaning ”spruce twig” in Swedish). When we were close to the big tree (330 cm in circumference) I found a deer trail just behind the tree. We followed the path a little bit into the forest. This path, the deer has done and uses it often, we could see.
