Lovely summer!

I will send you some pichtures I have taken over the past few weeks.

ItÂŽs summer flowers, the first berry in the forest, midsummer, visiting animals in the garden, (almost a mini zoo, the last week, one elk cow with her calf – miss them with the camera – a swan family and a deer).

SwedenÂŽs National day – 6 June

Started with sunshine…..

IMG_5366I went out with the camera and took some pictures on this lovely summer day. Not until now, our rhododendron start to bloom. ItÂŽs late!

Our dear guests in ”the Uthus” (a lovely family from Germany) went to BorĂ„s zoo, (ca 120 km from us).

We wanted to celibrate our National day, with a nice dinner, so we went to ”MandyÂŽs” itÂŽs a resturant with 50 – 60 style, (only 15km from us). They make very tasty hamburgers and deserts, but I donÂŽt usually have room for them…..pity 😩

”Full and happy” we drowe back home…….then it started raining……a lot!

And it continued……and continued……fullsizeoutput_3cc9

In two days (48 hours) there has been 84 mm of rain! So, the whole forest is like a big, wet sponge! (And itÂŽs probably not finished yet….)

And I really have to practise the German language!

Our nice little family from Germany said ”goodbye” to us yesterday, and the kids told me things (in German) about ther animals back home and, that she would start school after the summer and more………..

I have never wanted to speak German more, then I did yesterday!!

Today I found some small, nice things in the house – a fir cone in the window and a stone collection on the terrace 😉

Wonderfully! 🙂

The summer is ON!

Hi, from Slamrekullen! Today we had a lovely summer day, the fourth in a row, and it will not end yet. I have made a small, cozy and sunny place for our guests to enjoy breakfast. (The guestÂŽs terrace is on the other side of the house and has afternoon sun).

IMG_5340I tried the chairs and a breakfast – nice!

After my breakfast, I started to made the cottage ready for two German guests coming tomorrow. Meanwhile I worked, I got visited by a bird, flying in to the house. Two times 🙂 Many butterflies and bees buzz among dandelions and blueberry flowers.

All time we try to find new things to put in the house, things that our guest would need and like. Facing the bath season, I have put two large Beach towels in the wardrobe. AND a map! A map showing the best lakes or sandy beaches around.

OBS!

In the local area, there are many nice walking or jogging roads – so donÂŽt forget your shoes!!

When I was done, I sat in the sun with a glass of cold Prosecco – Jammi!

I hope we got a lovely week with a lot of sun!

But now, I have to see how the hockey is doing…… Sweden – Canada in WM final….start soon.

In Sweden we call it ”hockeymys” (”hockeycozy”) so, now IÂŽll have hockeymys!

Hejja Sverige!!!

Have a wonderful week!

Lotta.

Back home

As we say in Sweden ”borta bra, men hemma bĂ€st” mening ”away is good, but home is best”. We love to go on holiday, particularly to hot summer places like Florida. But two weeks is enough. Enough for calm down and relax, and enough for being homesick 😉 My little cats (Svante & Sven-Ingvar), are also on holiday, in a ”cat-guest-house”. They also think two weeks are more than enough!

But now, we are home again. Just in time to enjoy the spring. The spring flowers had blossomed and all the birds singing in every tree and working on their nests.

This weekend, we had wonderful spring days. We took the opportunity to fire up the old branches and authumn leaves. The new flag was hung on the wall and I also began to prepare for Easter. In Sweden we like to hang feathers in a bush……

I did yesterday down at the road!

On Thursday, we got new guests from Germany!

……and the cottage must be clean and nice.

When I was done, I decided to go shopping at GekĂ„s (our famous department store). A lot of things we needed. A new dorrmat e.g. When I walked around and looked, I saw a fine bedspread and pillows in the same color – ashpink (we say). They would fit so well on the loftbed. And I was right.

Look how nice it became! ”Springlike”.

We hope for fine spring days.

Greetings from Slamrekullen 😉

Welcome SPRING!

IMG_5085Finally, the spring is here. The birds are singing and nesting in our bird houses.

We have got some really warm and sunny spring days allready. In the pots I have planted the first spring flowes.

We like to ‘clean away’ the winter, and give the spring a helping hand. Away with authumn leaves and grass. Under the leaves, we can find the new green spring buds.

In two weeks, we celebrate Easter, and a week before, begin our lovely season at Slamrekullen. It will be so exciting to welcome new and old guests this year. But first we’ll be finished with our holiday.

Send our dear greetings from sunny Florida.

Lotta & Ronny

New photobook in the house and…….

more ”tips on trips” in our information binder.

The summer is here soon (I hope) and we have noticed that many of our guests sometimes wish to go on longer day trips. Therefore, I have added some of our own favorites. Here I show some of them.

I start with my sisters favorite – Marstrand, distance 2 hours, ca 150 km.

Another wonderful place is Smögen. But then you have to drive another hour 😉

Marstrand and Smögen is two wonderful places in summertime (not in wintertime).

In SmĂ„land (distance 200 km, 2,5 hours) is our ”Crystal glass kingdom”. The two famous ones, is Kosta and Orrefors. Shop and sales and glassblowing.

If you want to be sure to meet a moose……..

In our forest there are elks, but they does not appear so often. Then you can visit Laganland! (Distance 120 km, 1,5 hour).

img_4968(www.laganland.se)

A trip to IKEA a rainy day? Always a good idea! Or mabye a ride with lovely island horses on the beach? (www.toltivast.se)

We have made a photobook to Uthuset!

Many of our guests, vistit us in the summer time, like to see how it looks in wintertime.

And our winter guests like to see how it looks in the summer…….

Now we have collected many pictures from all the seasons in one book.
