Only 5 days left of 2020!

The Christmas holiday is over. The Christmas presents are open. The food is fineshed. The candles have burned down. The little snow that came yesterday has meltedEverything seems to have an end……right?

Yes! ThatÂŽs how it is. This horrible virus that created this horrible situation in the world, will also come to and end. No one knows when, no one knows how. But when it is over, I do not think it will be as before the virus. At least not in many years. The year 2020 will take a while to ”melt down”.

On Christmas day, my sister and her partner and little Bingo came as our guests in the cottage. We were invited to a very nice dinner with barbecue! It is healthy for stressed city dwellers to get out into the woods and feel the calm and the forest air. We ended the Christmas weekend in a very cosy way.

Today I will go out and make the cottage ready and nice for our new guests who will stay with us over New year. Hope they will get a nice stay and better weather than it is ringht now! Wish you all a happy new year!!! Welcome to us 2021.

Our booking calendar for 2021 – as it look like right now. Welcome to Slamrekullen!

Christmas is here!

The first guests of Christmas stayed with us this weekend. They got the cottage decorated for Christmas and a bed full of snow! We want snow outside and snow inside 😉

We have not received so much snow yet, just a little ”powder”.

In our greenhouse itÂŽs also Christmas and cozy. Our guests are welcome to sit there and drink some ”glögg”.

Wish you all a happy 2; advent! Hugs from Lotta & Ronny.

IÂŽm waiting for snow!

………and winter. Only some weeks now until we light the Christmas candles.

It will be Christmas this year anyway, despite misery and viruses. We got the Covid infection from our trip to Florida in March. Ronny was really bad for two weeks. I just felt weird, feverish, a little cough, and a strange feeling in my chest. Some weeks ago, we tested us for antibodies for Covid – 19. And the test was positive. We have had the virus, and we can be quite safe – at least for 6 months ahead. Oh! What I long for until the disease is gone!

But we have guests in our cozy cottage anyway! We have at least two days between each guest and extra cleaning. Right now we also have ”check-in-yourself” (you open and enter yourself). It will probably be like this for some months…….

But I hope for snow, because I have bought a ”kick”!

This is a ”kick” (”spark” in swedish). I long for snowy and icy roads when I will test drive my ”kick”.

Meanwhile we wait for snow, we have had an octoberfest!

We like Germany! The last week in october, we had an german oktoberfest with our dear neighbors. It was bier, wĂŒrste, sauerkraut, Brezein, ”ompa-ompa” musik, apfelstrudel, kein football 😉 IsÂŽnt we cute !?

But good things are happening in the big world as well – Joe Biden will be President of the United States (thank God!) These are nervous days with worrying news, so…….

Now it is soon Advent, and ”tomtarna” start to move, and are awake late at night. We have noticed – it shines in the stump!

Picture from last year – no snow yet!

But soon……. Christmas will sneak into the cottage…….

Warm welcome to spend Christmas at Slamrekullen 🙂

Lotta & Ronny

Welcome autumn!

ItŽs still summer during the day, but as soon as the sun disappears we notice that it is autumn now. Our moring temperature today was 7 ° C.

I pick the last flowers and tomatoes. This year we had 20 tomato plans and we got a lot of tomatoes.

ItÂŽs lovely to put a bowl of our own tomatoes in the cottage to our guests.

Now autumn coziness awaits in the cottages with fire in the stove and light candles. We are good at that here at Slamrekullen.

Wish everyone a lovely September.

Folow us on Instagram ”Slamrekullen” more pichtures and videos!

Willkommen zurĂŒck Deutschland!

Today we welcomed our first German guests since Corona started. We really hope that everything goes so slowly towards better times. We will probably have to live with restrictions, keeping distance and be careful and take grate personal responsibility – I think it will be fine soon.

We really like our German guests. No one likes Sweden so much as Germans do. No, not even Swedes. Swedes need to travel abroad, around the world to different places to realize how nice and wonderful we have it in our country. There is a slogan ”Borta bra, men hemma bĂ€st” (”away is good, but home is best”) We forget it all the time!!

IÂŽm a real ”home person”. I like Slamrekullen, our perfect place on earth. But today we went to an excursion to Ätraforsdammen (ca 20 kilometer from us), in wonderful summer weather, and took a bath with picknick.

We got a tricky duck in the pond, called Anki…….

Who has a damaged wing…….

Who can not fly……

Little Anki can fly! She showed that yesterday. Flew away and came back several times. Then she flew away and did not come back. This morning she was sitting on the stone again waiting for breakfast! We serve soch good ”oats food” here 😉

This week has delivered a wonderful summer!

Hope for more!!

Love from Slamrekullen 🙂

Lovely summer evenings

We like to sit in front of the greenhouse and watch the birds and the fish, me and Svante. We have some goldfish and grass carp in the pond. Sometime they make a splash 🙂

Many swallows flying over the pond, trying to catch insects. And our cute little mallard ”Anki” swims around, dives and looks for food. We feed her with oatmeal, she likes that. She has been living in our pond for three weeks now. When she get close to us, SvanteÂŽs tail starts moving back and forth……….he has a bird ban!

We have many green tomatoes in our greenhouse 😉 IÂŽm waiting for them to mature…..

But, while I wait, I can pick some blueberries! Now it®s blueberrytime in the forest 😉

Soon more birds will come to us – chickens! Today Ronny started to put up the fence around the hen house. I have painted inside and put up curtains 🙂 If the hens thrive well, then there will be good eggs – I think!

Wish you all a wonderful weekend 🙂

When it rains and rains…..

Fy! What a windy and rainy week we had!

What can we do?

Read detective stories adn eat ice cream, drink some wine in the greenhouse and just wait….

When we had waited for several days, real comfort was needed – we went down over the ”HallandsĂ„sen” to Magretetorp. Our favorite (restaurant) place. And we were not disappointed now either. We ate a lovely summer buffet.

One day, two little ducklings were sitting on a rock. The next day there was only one 😩

In the rain and wind it sat on the stone – all alone. ”it should have a small house”, I said to Ronny. Such a duck house as Mandelmans has, floating on the pond. Then the little duckling would be safe from hunting birds and hunting cats!

What did my kind Ronny do then? Jo, he start to build a small floating house for the little duckling. It turn out so well. Later we built a ramp so the duckling could get upp easier.

We have not seen her (itÂŽs a duck girl) inside the house yet, but she sits on the ramp, in front of the house every night. Great place to sleap, it seems. Every morning and evening she gets oatmeal, corn and some salad to eat.

The little duckling seems to like living in the pond, and comes towards me when I lure her, she would like some oatmeal ; )

Summer greetings from Slmrekullen 🙂

New pichtures!

I think itÂŽs time to show some newly taken pichtures from inside of the cottage.

ItÂŽs so nice to welcome guests again and we have uppdated our information folder with many new ideas. I can recomend an app ”Visit Halland”.

On the small bookshelf is a nice book about Halland……. and a lot of pocket books both in swedish and in german.

Lovely summer in Halland! Strawberry ”fika” outside of my greenhouse – lovely 🙂

Okay, itÂŽs really says England on the mugg……

Midsummer in the forest

We need strawberries, wild flowers and a picnic basket with champagne.

We started with the strawberries – drove to ”Vareborgs Jordgubbsodling”.

There they have a strawberry cafĂ© – jammi!

We can really recommend a visit.

Now we have strawberries, now we need a midsummer wreath to my head ; )

Out and pick flowers. Yes, you have to pick the flowers yourself and it should be wild flowers in a genuine midsummer wreath.

And now to the last – pack the pickninc basket and go down to the boat : )

Our lake was like a mirror – quiet and still.

Wish you all a wonderful summer!

High up in the air….

Like two small red fly agaric in the moss – there is Slamrekullen.

This morning, Micke flew high up in the air above us with his drone and took many nice pictures.

This is how the birds experience the enviroment.

Down there Ronny build on my hen house 😉

Beside our houses is a small pond.
