Vilken härlig helg vi haft. Soligt och varmt. Både vi och katterna har tassat omkring. Pysslat lite i växthuset, planterat om mina små tomatplantor, hängt upp tvätt för tork utomhus, fikat, men mest av allt njutit av det härliga vädret.
Uthuset har fått en ny fin dörr i förra veckan. Vilken skillnad det blev! Både utifrån och inifrån. Huset fick en helt annan stil, så det är nästan så att vi inte kan kalla det Uthuset längre…. Ska dörrskylten ”Uthuset” upp eller inte?
I söndags satte jag Ronny i arbete (igen). Kan du inte bygga ett utebord till terrassen bakom växthuset. Jag gillar gammalt virke, och det låg en hel hög med just gammalt virke på vedbacken. (Som hönshuset också är byggt utav). Ronny började mäta och såga och efter bara några timmar började det likna ett bord. Kanske är benen lite för långa? Kanske ska jag måla bordets ben och ramen runt? Men det blir så fint med ett utebord just där, för det är det enda stället där björkarna skuggar fint mot sommarsolen. Så härligt det låter – sommarsolen!!
Hoppas det blir många, många fler helger som denna med varmt och solig väder. Men April är April……vädret växlar från sol, till regn, till snö, till hagel, till sol igen. Ibland är det massor av olika väder samtidigt! Här är en bild från den 5 April och det hade snöat i flera timmar!
Lika mycket som jag längtar efter snön i början av December, lika mycket längtar jag efter värme och sol just nu. Vi närmar oss sommaren.

Av alla högtider är påsken bäst! Jag gillar alla fina färger och ljuset som kommer tillbaka. Påsken är inte alls lika uppstressad som julen är. Inte behöver man förbereda i flera veckor i förväg. Nej, hämta lite fjädrar och påskägg. Köpa lite fina blommor och plantera (som jag älskar). När de soliga dagarna sedan kommer är det bra att njuta av champagne och praliner 😉Påsken är också starten på våren och den härliga tiden i växthuset när jag sätter igång all grönska.
I går, på påskafton tog vi bilen och körde ner till Falkenberg. Vi hade bokat in oss för påsksupé på Laxbutiken i Heberg (https://laxbutiken.se) Ett säkert kort om man gillar lax, och det gör vi! Inte blev vi besvikna heller. Oj, vad gott och Oj, vad mätta vi blev. Helt otrrrrrroligt gott och fint!
På kvällen hade våra kära grannar fixat en påskeld med fyrverkerier. (Allt enligt gammal tradition här i Halland.) På påskaftonens kväll tänder vi eldar och skjuter fyrverkerier för att skrämma iväg alla påskkärringar som är på väg hem från Blåkulla. Nu för tiden får man leta efter eldarna, och påskkärringarna men inte här på vår gata, här finns allt 🙂 Älskar påskeldar!
Även på våra gästers altan blev det lite vårfint med hjälp av blommor och en nystädad altan. Hoppas att våra gäster haft en härlig påsk helg i stugan.
Vi har ju en gästbok ute i stugan och det är alltid lika roligt att se om våra gäster skrivit något. Denna fina text och konstverk mötte mig i förra veckan. Jag bara älskar!!!

Här kommer en liten film som Micke filmat när han och Nilla var hos oss några dagar efter jul. Nu har jag uppdaterat vår sida, så jag kan visa film. Det blir toppen!
Nu har våren kommit till Slamrekullen, (trots att vi hade snöstorm i torsdags!) Vi eldar, sår små frön, (chili och tomatfrön har redan börjat grönska). Vi fikar i uterum och i växthuset. Ronny har byggt 12 små holkar till alla våra små fåglar. De satte han upp idag till våra glada små hyresgäster.
Som ni ser ligger isen fortfarande på vår damm.
Jag har skaffat mig en söt liten hobby – göra chokladpraliner! Det är SÅ kul! Jag experimenterar med olika smaker. (Det ska helst vara två olika fyllningar i varje pralin). Sedan kan man måla och garnera dem i det oändliga. Man kan då tro att jag äter väldigt mycket choklad. Jo, jag gillar det absolut, men det är själva skapandet av dessa små konstverk som är det roliga. Välja form och fundera ut en härlig ”smakkombo” som bara jag i hela världen kan göra 😉
Gjorde en fantastisk vit chokladpralin i går med fyllning med mango och cocos – jammi!Vem ska äta alla pralinerna då? Ronny så klart och våra gäster i stugan, och sedan lämnar jag små smakprov till grannar, vänner och bekanta.
I går var jag hos Nilla och Micke i husbilen med ett litet smakprov. De testade med Irish till…..De blir så fina!
I mitt fönster växer små frön. Tänk att dessa små ”pyttisar” ska bli stora tomatplantor om några månader. Härliga vår välkommen!
Såklart kan ni boka vår stuga direkt med oss. Ni behöver inte alls gå via aribnb. Skicka oss ett mail med era önskemål, så bokar vi in er. (750:- natt och 45oo:- / vecka) minsta vistelse 2 nätter.
Finally winter! This is what I was waitning for. A real winter with frost and thich ice on all lakes. We have almost had – 20 celcius, several times this week! When it´s so cold, the nose hairs freeze together when you breathe 🙂 but I like it!
The cats, on the other hand, do not like it that much. It´s cold on the little paws. They only go out for short periods. Sharpend their claws on the railing and take a chort walk on the ice. Then directly back home to the sofa in front of the frieplace.

The greenhouse is in sleep under a thick, white winter blanket. Wondering when I can start fixing there? It will not be during the coming week anyway, because the strong winter will continue next week as well. But in a month I will start sowing my little seeds 🙂
While I wait to grow my own greenery, I can always go to our nice and special flower shop, ”Blomsterfrid” to enjoy and get inspiration. I was there this week to order some flowers and as always admire the florists Morgan and Susannes fine work. In our information folder, we of course have tips for our guests to pay a visit to Fridhemsberg, just 15 minute drive from us. (There is also a lovely bakery across the street). Now I want to show you some pictures that I took from their Instagram.
We got some snow during the last days of December. It made everything atmospheric and winter crisp and bright. I have written many times about what happens when we get snow. The dark forest suddenly becomes bright. When we have moonlight, as it has been for a few nights now, it´s just bright like a late afternoon. I like snow, mostly because it will be bright and nice in the forest and that the cats come in with cleans paws 😉 The paws are clean, but very cold and they like to lie in my knee or in front of the fireplace to warm up.
Can you see, it´s lit in the hen house! The light is on, bur no one is home yet.
We celebrated the New Year with our wonderful neighbors at Mossahägnad.
2020 would be celebrated away – POFF!
On with the extra red lipstick and the same dress that I had during the first (and only) fine-dress-night on the boat (Adventure of the seas) in the Gulf of Mexico in March. It was just then that everything ”normal” stoped to be ”normal”. The virus exploded over the world. Flights stopped going between countries. Could we come home?
Yes, we came home! Lovely! Now we need to be in quarantine some weeks and not meet someone. It´s okey. We are home now. We can work in the forest. Clear forest and make fire. ”Cought – Cough!” Wow, we have made a lot of fires and smoke today, ”caugh – cough!”
”I have had a chough”, said Ronny. ”And I feel a little bit sick!” And I think I have some fever. And some more fever. And some more chough. Is it Corona? We do not know, because no one get any test. We call 1177 ”Healthcare information”. Well, it sounds like you have Corna, they said. Ronny was really bad in two weeks time, with a high fever and breathing probelms.
At the same time, a restraining order was introduces in all nursing homes through the country, which is good, but we are not allwed to visit our old father who has problem with his stomach and needs surgery. This was the worst thing. Not being able to be with him and hold his hand. The operation failed and he did not make it.Tears, cough, worries, fever and more tears. It´s my memory of spring 2020.
With one small exeption. A fantastic, lovely, cute little exeption – Wilma! My niece´s little girl who was born in May.
När lillan kom till jorden, det var i Maj när göken gol. Sa mamma att det lyste av vårgrönt och av sol. (When the little one came to earth, it was in May when the cuchoo was barking, Mother said that it was shining of spring-green and of sun).

We did not think we would get a single guest in our cottage for the whole 2020, but we did! Many new, lovely Swedish guests found us, and during the autumn, Germans and Danes also dared to return.
Like an ugly, smelly, sticky cardigan, I think of 2020.
At 00:00 on New Year´s eve, I threw it off and I burned it up in a glow of fireworks and I toasted in champagne ”Happy New Year” and – YIPPI KAY YAY ……..

The Christmas holiday is over. The Christmas presents are open. The food is fineshed. The candles have burned down. The little snow that came yesterday has melted – Everything seems to have an end……right?
Yes! That´s how it is. This horrible virus that created this horrible situation in the world, will also come to and end. No one knows when, no one knows how. But when it is over, I do not think it will be as before the virus. At least not in many years. The year 2020 will take a while to ”melt down”.
On Christmas day, my sister and her partner and little Bingo came as our guests in the cottage. We were invited to a very nice dinner with barbecue!It is healthy for stressed city dwellers to get out into the woods and feel the calm and the forest air. We ended the Christmas weekend in a very cosy way.
Today I will go out and make the cottage ready and nice for our new guests who will stay with us over New year. Hope they will get a nice stay and better weather than it is ringht now! Wish you all a happy new year!!! Welcome to us 2021.

The first guests of Christmas stayed with us this weekend. They got the cottage decorated for Christmas and a bed full of snow! We want snow outside and snow inside 😉
We have not received so much snow yet, just a little ”powder”.
In our greenhouse it´s also Christmas and cozy. Our guests are welcome to sit there and drink some ”glögg”.

………and winter. Only some weeks now until we light the Christmas candles.
It will be Christmas this year anyway, despite misery and viruses. We got the Covid infection from our trip to Florida in March. Ronny was really bad for two weeks. I just felt weird, feverish, a little cough, and a strange feeling in my chest. Some weeks ago, we tested us for antibodies for Covid – 19. And the test was positive. We have had the virus, and we can be quite safe – at least for 6 months ahead. Oh! What I long for until the disease is gone!
But we have guests in our cozy cottage anyway! We have at least two days between each guest and extra cleaning. Right now we also have ”check-in-yourself” (you open and enter yourself). It will probably be like this for some months…….
But I hope for snow, because I have bought a ”kick”!
This is a ”kick” (”spark” in swedish). I long for snowy and icy roads when I will test drive my ”kick”.
Meanwhile we wait for snow, we have had an octoberfest!
We like Germany! The last week in october, we had an german oktoberfest with our dear neighbors. It was bier, würste, sauerkraut, Brezein, ”ompa-ompa” musik, apfelstrudel, kein football 😉 Is´nt we cute !?
But good things are happening in the big world as well – Joe Biden will be President of the United States (thank God!) These are nervous days with worrying news, so…….
Now it is soon Advent, and ”tomtarna” start to move, and are awake late at night. We have noticed – it shines in the stump!

Today we welcomed our first German guests since Corona started. We really hope that everything goes so slowly towards better times. We will probably have to live with restrictions, keeping distance and be careful and take grate personal responsibility – I think it will be fine soon.
We really like our German guests. No one likes Sweden so much as Germans do. No, not even Swedes. Swedes need to travel abroad, around the world to different places to realize how nice and wonderful we have it in our country. There is a slogan ”Borta bra, men hemma bäst” (”away is good, but home is best”) We forget it all the time!!
I´m a real ”home person”. I like Slamrekullen, our perfect place on earth. But today we went to an excursion to Ätraforsdammen (ca 20 kilometer from us), in wonderful summer weather, and took a bath with picknick.

Little Anki can fly! She showed that yesterday. Flew away and came back several times. Then she flew away and did not come back. This morning she was sitting on the stone again waiting for breakfast! We serve soch good ”oats food” here 😉
